Member Associations

There are two voluntary associations that represent the interests of particular groups of members. They are the:

Government Superannuitants Association

Membership of the Government Superannuitants Association is open to:

  • those who receive a pension from the GSF and their spouses;
  • those retired from the health service who receive a pension from the National Provident Fund, and their spouses;
  • those who are eligible to receive a pension, but have yet to take that option, and their spouses.

New Zealand Railways Superannuitants’ Association

Membership of the New Zealand Railways Superannuitants’ Association is open to:

  • former employees of Railways who receive a pension from the GSF, or are eligible to receive a pension;
  • surviving spouses of former employees of Railways.

www.sorted.org.nz is an independent site that offers financial planning advice and calculators that will help you get sorted on money matters including debt, investments and retirement.

Age Concern

Age Concern is an independent, charitable, not-for-profit organisation with the mission of working together to promote the quality of life and well-being of older people. Age Concern New Zealand is a federation of local Age Concern Councils, which each provide information and services in cities and most major provincial towns around the country.

Grey Power

Grey Power is a voluntary association that aims to advance, support and protect the welfare and well being of people over 50.

Citizens Advice Bureaux

Citizens Advice Bureaux is a voluntary organisation providing free, confidential information and advice to anyone about any query or problem. CAB is staffed by trained volunteers who can access information by computer or from the extensive range of resources held by each bureau. The CAB has 87 offices spread from Kaitaia to Invercargill, and also a freephone number (0800 FOR CAB) which ensures no cost to any phone caller.

NZ Council of Social Services

NZ Council of Social Services is a national umbrella organisation for local Councils of Social Services throughout New Zealand.
